Introduction *

1.1 Reporting year

*

2024

1.1.1 Reporting period

*

from 6.2023 to 5.2024

1.2 Describe your business activities

*
Opergy Group is a specialist consultancy working across the energy system and wider infrastructure sectors to support the transition to net zero. Our activities are primarily office-based, involving research, strategic advisory, stakeholder engagement, and programme delivery. Our work spans offshore wind, hydrogen, nuclear, solar, CCS, and industrial decarbonisation, with a focus on skills, innovation, and place-based climate action.

1.4 Number of employees in the reporting year

*
24

1.4.1 Full-time equivalent (FTE) or headcounts

*
Full-time equivalent

1.5 Let us know if your company is a parent company or subsidiary

*
Parent company

Commitment and Targets *

2.1 Net zero target year

*
2030

2.1.1 Base year

*
2023

2.2 Near-term target

*

100% of absolute scope 1 emission reduction from my base year by 2026

60 of absolute scope 2 emission reduction from my base year by 2028

100 of absolute scope 3 emission reduction from my base year by 2030

Own Emissions *

3.1 To reduce emissions in line with my commitment, my company has a plan and is taking action

*
Yes

Energy consumption

3.2 Total energy consumption

*
12682 kwh

3.3 Renewable energy

*
0 kwh

Scope 1 emissions

3.4 Scope 1 emissions

*
9.8 metric tons CO2e

Scope 2 emissions

3.5 Location based scope 2 emissions

*
2.6 metric tons CO2e

3.7 Describe your plans and actions taken to reduce scope 1 & 2 emissions.

*
Old oil boiler has been replaced with a newer HVO-compatible boiler - assuming 100% HVO use, emissions could decrease by 80%. Smart heating controls have also been implemented to reduce heating demand and subsequent scope 1 emissions. Local carbon insetting schemes are being considered to reduce the remaining scope 1 emissions. To reduce scope 2 emissions, LED lighting has been installed to replace old fluorescent lights. Energy efficient office equipment has also been purchased where relevant. Interventions under consideration to reduce scope 2 emissions include the installation of motion sensors for lighting and investment in smart plugs to reduce the energy requirements of office equipment.

3.8 Describe the calculation methodology and comment on the data accuracy, including any tools/methods used to calculate.

*
Scope 1 emissions are comprised of oil consumption to heat the office. The volume of oil used throughout the year has been noted and verified from invoices from suppliers. A conversion factor was used to calculate the emissions from a certain volume of oil. Similarly, accurate electricity consumption figures have been obtained from bills, with subsequent CO2 emission figures being calculated from the relevant conversion factor.

Value Chain Emissions (optional) *

Scope 3 emissions

4.1 Have you measured any of your scope 3 emissions?

*
Yes

4.1.1 Total scope 3 emissions

*
28.3 metric tons CO2e

Supply chain related - upstream emissions

4.1.7 Business travel

*
6.5 metric tons CO2e

4.1.8 Employee commuting

*
14.8 metric tons CO2e

Customer related - downstream emissions

4.1.17 Do you have a plan and are taking action to reduce emissions from your value chain?

*

No

-

4.2 Have you asked any of your suppliers to set a net zero target (either voluntarily or as a requirement)?

*
-

4.3 Have you communicated your commitment and actions to any of your customers?

*
Yes

4.4 Describe the calculation methodology and comment on the data accuracy and any tools used to calculate your scope 3 emissions.

*
Business travel and commuting emissions based on miles travelled/mode of transport using standard UK emission factors.

Climate Solutions (optional) *

5.1 Do you classify any of your existing goods and/or services as a climate solution?

*
Yes

5.2 What percentage of your total revenue comes from sales of climate solutions?

*
90 %

5.3 Provide descriptions/names of your climate solutions:

*
* Management consultancy services in climate policy for Local Government and Industry clusters * Support to businesses moving into clean energy sectors, e.g. offshore wind, nuclear, hydrogen, and grid infrastructure, often advising on carbon reporting requirements through supply chains. * Net Zero Pathways (For Communities, Businesses, Local Authorities, Industrial Clusters, Regions) * Development and delivery of Carbon Literacy Workshops for business, local government, and education bodies. * Carbon baselining services and Decarbonation Plans * Renewable/Sustainable Technology Advice

5.4 Methodology used to assess these as climate solutions, and third party which has validated the assessment, if any:

*
Our target business and industry sectors are primarily focused on clean energy systems and supporting communities and local governments in understanding delivery pathways towards net zero. We adopt a range of methods to assess carbon emissions, including the development of an in-house GIS spatial mapping platform that can support the calculation of territorial emissions.
